The White Sox have had an up and down first season in the HRC 9-10 Kid Pitch league.
"Been a tough transition this year from machine pitch to kid pitch," said Head Coach Troy Adkins.
The Sox played their opener up against the Broncos on June 16. After a slow start, the White Sox fell 0-2 early but knotted it up in the final inning for a 2-2 tie.
The following Monday, the played team Blue and finished with a 3-3 tie.
"These boys have alot of fight in them which helps keep games close," added Adkins.
On July 1, the Sox knotched their first "W" to keep "undefeated" against the Red team with an 11-3 win.
"Its a blast to see these boys blossom as ball players," Adkins stated.
The first set back happened on July 8 against the Sharks, who defeated the Sox 4-2.
"It was a tough loss, but these boys are a great bunch and have a competitive fire in them," added First Base Coach Jarod Wannamaker.
The White Sox bounced back on July 14 with a hard fought win over Team Green, 6-4. The Sox jumped to a lead behind starting pitcher Kellen O'Sullivan but Team Green fought back but were closed out by Zach Hogan and Ty Adkins.
