HUTCHINSON (McQUEEN #3) – The White Sox rang up 27 hits and played lights out defense in a 17-0 win over the Yankees in HutchRec Civitan Club Machine Pitch League action Tuesday, June 11, 2013.
“This team has 12 kids on it, and they all can hit,” said Head Coach Troy Adkins.
The White Sox were led by Tayton Morales (3 for 3, 4 RBI), Julen Wannamaker (3 for 3, 4 RBI) and Ty Adkins (3-3, 3 RBI). Kellen O’Sullivan (3-3), Owen Daniels (3-3), and Cooper Dube (3-3) knocked in 2 each. Brady Ollenburger (3-3) and Clark Denison (1-3) each had 1.
Coach Adkins added, “These boys get the fundamentals of baseball and that makes my job easier.”
Blaine Mendenhall (1-3) and Aiden Fountain (2-3) both recorded there first hits of the season also. Leyton Reneau rang up two more hits and Rylan Young had some great cuts and lead the defensive outfield.
Defensively, after an opening single, Morales and Adkins controlled the first base line to keep the Yankees at bay. Even though the Yankees came up short, they played hard and smiled doing it.
