The Hutchinson Jets 3rd grade football team has gotten off to a slow start with back-to-back losses. A heartbreaking 6-0 loss Sept. 7 to Maize and a hard fought 21-6 loss to Newton on Sept. 14. “We have a lot of talent, but quite a few first year players,” said Head Coach Jarod Wannamaker. “I’m proud of the effort put forth in practices and the games. Now we just have to put it all together and gets some wins.” The Jets look to bounce back against Derby at Don Michael Field on Sept. 21, 2013. “Even though the score didn’t indicate it, we played Newton well. There were a couple some small miscues that hurt and we have been working to correct them,” added Wannamaker. “The boys are having fun, and honestly, that’s what it’s all about at this level.” Submitted by Rachel Wannamaker |
