The Hutchinson Hornets 3rd Grade MAYB basketball team wrapped up a very successful season on March 8 in Colwich, taking 2nd place. “Decided to step up an age group and got 2nd in the last Tourney in the 4th grade division,” said Head Coach Ty Cohoon. Cohoon liked playing older teams, as it gave his Hornets motivation and chance to hone their skills. “This let the boys know what needs to be worked on and gave great motivation to practice and get better on their skills. Which is what this level of ball is all about! Gets us away from the iPads, Xbox, and TV.” On Feb. 8, the Hornets stormed the Kingman MAYB tournament and took 1st place. ““We were undefeated against other 3rd grade teams. We won the Kingman tourney.” Earlier in the Hutchinson YMCA Competitive Mid-State League, the Hornets captured the league title. “Great group of boys looking forward to playing in more tournaments in the future and continuing to get better,” Cohoon concluded. | |
