White Sox win opener 5-0 over Royals

“In our first game, every kid acted like a seasoned veteran and played great ball,” said White Sox skipper Troy Adkins.
The White Sox scored 2 in the first as Brady Ollenburger and Kellen O’Sullivan drove in one each. Clark Denison added an RBI in the third, scoring Leyton Reneau. In the fourth, Denison was brought home on a Cooper Dube single. Dube scored from first on a Ty Adkins double.
Behind solid defense from pitcher Tayton Morales, the Sox held the Royals to a couple singles. The Royals threatened in the top of the 4th, but a pop up caught by Ollenburger and a force out by Morales ended the threat.
“I am very lucky to have a group of kids who are so willing to learn the game of baseball,” added Coach Adkins.
